Le saviez-vous ?
Il est à l'origine, avec quelques amis, de la fondation du FC Neudorf, nom initial du RCS.Pratiquant plusieurs sports, il excelle en athlétisme. Très jeune, il devient dirigeant : après la guerre, en 1919, il prend la présidence du club, tout juste renommé en Racing Club de Strasbourg. Il a alors seulement 26 ans. Il oeuvre énormément pendant près d'un demi-siècle pour le développement du Racing, qui devient un grand club omnisports.
Toujours passionné d'athlétisme, il crée aussi la Ligue d'Alsace d'Athlétisme, dont il prend la présidence.
